Hi! For those of you who do not know me, my name is Lily Cochrane and I am a Junior here at Wofford College studying Finance and Studio Art. This past fall semester I participated in CIEE’s Prague: Central European Studies program in the Czech Republic. During my 18 week program, I had the amazing opportunity to travel to 11 different countries. I had been to Europe once before for a January term in Rome, but I never had to plan my own trip itineraries, keep track of my own finances, find cheapest travel options, or anything else in between.

I am somewhat well-versed in travel, having been to many cool places including Thailand, Ecuador, & The Galapagos. While traveling comes naturally to some, for many it can be the root of great anxiety. As much as I love to travel, I have never been on a trip without the voice in my head saying, ‘You can’t do this. You should go home.’ However, I have never let this voice win. Instead, I challenge myself and remember that I am completely capable of anything. Studying abroad, though it is not for everyone, is one of the most rewarding experiences, as you are basically on your own; it is your choice how you spend your time.

I have decided to publish this platform as a student’s guide to affordable and safe travel, along with other fun things here and there. My vision for this blog is to highlight not only my own experiences in different cities, but my peers’ as well. I want to be able to provide reassurance along with accessible information for all of your travel needs. No need for extensive research for the safest hostels, most affordable Airbnbs, clubs, bars, restaurants, and museums– we have tested it out already for you! All information is curated to our age group. We'll never see it all, but we sure as hell can try.
